Issued by “C.G.O.Co.Ltd”, the China General Omnibus Co. Ltd, which is a British invested Company. “C.G.O.Co.Ltd” is the first bus company in Shanghai. Its first line opened to public in 1922. “C.G.O.Co.Ltd” issued two set of bus tokens, the 1922 Issue, and the 1939/1940 issue. All of them are quite rare currently.
This item is the 1939/1940 Issue, which include:
3 cents token, Alu, 25 mm in diameter, 3.2 gram.
Good Quality, poor minted.
This issue was circulated for only 3 to 4 years. After WWII, the bus token went out of use.
